I’m just me! Margaret Hall -Diggs,mother of four great children:
We met on E-Harmony! June 28, 2006 we exchanged our first email. Can I tell you that it really works! We are so well matched and get along great. We have many of the same interests. Harvey came out to California, where we had our first date in San Luis Obispo, on my birthday last year July 30th. We spent the weekend there going to the street fair, Hearst Castle, walking around the town of San Luis Obispo, and Avila Beach. By the end of the weekend I was pretty sure I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. He went home and we started planning to get married On Aug. 24, 2006 in Bakersfield, it was a small ceremony at the courthouse.
There’s been lot’s of changes for me and the kids. Last December I moved to Harvey’s home in Savannah, Missouri. We live on an 85 acre wooded farm, it’s beautiful here, and so peaceful. We have a creek that runs along the backyard, which has a small waterfall. We have lightening bugs here, they are so great to watch at night. They are little fluorescent bugs that are fun to watch. Kids like to catch them and put them in jars. We also have Cicada’s, you can hear them in the trees, they make a humming viberating sound. We have birds galore! Cardinals, wrens, we have an owl that perches in an Oak outside our front window. My home in Bakersfield was always peaceful and so I was so happy when I came back here and found that same peacefulness.
Life is taking some getting adjusting to, new town, new friends, new church, and leaving behind family, friends and church, especially people I have known all my life.
I was born and raised in Bakersfield, only moved away for about a year in 1975 when I married Steve and we moved to Delano, CA. his hometown, but very shortly after we moved back to Bakersfield. So, as you can see, it’s been major culture shock for me moving back here to MO. But I’m loving the change and my new life.
One of the great things about life is the invention of the internet, email, Myspace, blogs and digital cameras. What great tools to keep in touch with old friends and family and it’s instanteous. Not like letters where you have to wait a week or two to hear back from your friends. When something happens my family is great about posting pictures immediately and it allows me to have my “Kodak Moments” with them. So as you read and glimpse into my personal life, you will see that my family and I like to spread the love around, we talk on the cell phone two and three times a day. Hey! We’re a close family and we love each other. Welcome to my world!
